    Acceptance isn’t a place where the loss is no longer felt. Rather, acceptance, the last stage of grief, is a place where a new normal has evolved. The new reality may still feel painful, but the fog begins to lift.

    You are modeling for your son what it looks like to deal with loss in a healthy way. If you don’t stop and process the loss, your son will learn a dangerous lesson: emotions don’t matter and vulnerability isn’t necessary for relationships.
