That sounds like a recipe for more mindless phone surfing. To be meaningful, work should exercise the mind and soul. When it does, we want to do it more, not less. The future of work is the expansion of high meaning employment with repetitive, pattern matching tasks sent to AI.

This reifies the work/free time opposition. Not that useless work isnt bad--it is. And not that there isn't useful work to do, lots of it, and frankly most all of it left undone in our current shithole society. But beyond that 1/

To imagine that we might actually be able to do something that both fulfills our desires and is useful! Perhaps cooking, or woodworking, making music, caring for an elderly person in need. Etcetera. The opposition between work and enjoyment is still suffocating. 2/
