They were talking about cultural appropriation and yeah, I grew up watching Benny Hill who greatly exaggerated his characters but it wasn’t to discuss cultural appropriation...

And this is where things get hazy. I’m not a fan of cheap snipes on either side but there’s a difference between swinging at individuals (depends on what they did and if you’re punching up or down), a CHOSEN political ideology, and an unchosen demographic like race or gender.

A joke that had the tenet of “all people from the South are inbred” isn’t something I’d support (though white southerners still have an easier time than a lot of minorities) but swinging at gun nuts that choose their lifestyle is different.

Well if you’re already unconcerned by this depiction you’ll probably consider my next statement alarmist: but shit like this spreads. Teenagers who think of Cr*wder as a role model are gonna pull this shit on their classmates.

“The world is cruel so be cruel first” isn’t just the world’s most slippery slope (your daughter’s gonna get groped by a guy at one point, so why not feel her up first?) but a shitty defeatist attitude.

That is a weird hill they’re choosing to stand on. The world doesn’t have to be cruel, being cruel for that sake is just being an absolute cockwaffle
