    True Facts about Roguelikes 2019: Crush monsters, THEN get loots. Spike pits are best avoided and bad for your health. Always put a bag of holding into another bag of holding - I mean, what could possibly happen? Nothing bad. Unlike “Snake”, you can always go back. Don’t trust your keyboard’s auto repeat. Metaprogression isn’t permadeath. Always wear the golden dragon armor on D:1.
    All bards may not be the most powerful party composition, but it is the most fun! Death is just a new beginning! Metaprogression is fun.
    You’ll be happier if you finish making it. Every monster you date is a monster you don’t have to slay.

    GPT-2 is the closest I've ever seen in AI to black magic—it's so good, it's hard to accept the text it generates was conjured by machine. This wonderful talk by at shows some of its creative potential in generative storytelling.

    This talk by was probably my favorite talk of the celebration. It addressed what seemed to be the key theme of the year which is how do we deal with a world where we increasingly have systems that can produce a library of babel of content.
