    The weirdest thing about this spate of glacial breakoffs in the Himalaya is that it is happening in the winter. Wonder what the summer will bring.

    Something drastic happening up there. Two glacial breakoff events in the Himalaya in quick succession, one off Lamjung Himal on 11 Jan (see video) and the other off Nanda Devi down to Chamoli on 7 Feb. Several other recent breakoffs in Nepal Himalaya.
