the entire idea of "happiness" as a balanced work/leisure production/consumption equation exists only to keep everybody on the treadmill
happiness is bullshit. the only times i've ever felt truly alive have been periods of total obsession with something. not always "pleasant"

yea this is why i really don't want to work on something i'm not interested in. they expect you to dedicate everything

the software stuff i've done in the past has just felt like.. stuff i did for the sake of having a job and not much more than that

i made money but it felt like a waste of time because i didn't care about anything i produced

i've felt accomplished building stuff for other people, but about the experience of grinding it out rather than the product itself

i think id be satisfied if i learned something i thought was useful, but that p much means gamedev or music related stuff.
