I don't know about racist - I remember Democrats saying McCain wasn't eligible because he was born in the Panama Canal Zone, albeit to two citizens - but it is absolutely crackpot. There are plenty of very devastating criticisms to make of Kamala Harris. This is nonsense.https://twitter.com/SteveSchmidtSES/status/1294260427791241218 …

United States Senator Kamala Harris is a natural born citizen of the United States of America. She is Constitutionally eligible to be the President of the United States. There are no questions around this reality. These attacks are racist and built on a foundation of crackpottery

If the many attacks on Sarah Palin had anything whatsoever to do with her public policy positions I’d take the indignant defenses of Harris more seriously. The McCain/Palin campaign had all the biting and edgy policy positions of tapioca pudding. The attacks on her were personal

I appreciate you calling it what it is, but you don't have to "Both sides" it, i don't remember Obama lending credence to it the way Trump did.

What I remember is that a few on the idiot far left tried to say this and were shut down immediately by mainstream and left Democrats. Be nice if the GOP did the same.

Karl Rove was the person who raised the issue of McCain’s eligibility in the 2000 GOP Primary. trump also made the case against Ted Cruz.

Democrats were NOT making an issue of this, that's completely revisionist. Maybe a very tiny amount of crazies, but Democrats on average couldn't care less. Questioning one's citizenship is purely a Republican phenomenon.
