When I was an organizer in Iowa, the thing I’d hear most while knocking doors was “I don’t know if I can caucus because someone has to stay home with the kids.” This shows exactly how will lead as President and I’m proud of our campaign.

Update: we have extended the deadline to submit to "Bridging AI and Cognitive Science" at until Feb. 11th, to avoid conflicts with ICML. Enjoy a few extra days to work on your submissions! 🙂

In my class on the design & governance of experiments, students with business experience have doubted whether organizations can ever value causal evidence. Today, we're talking about this quote by Donald Campbell about trapped administrators vs experimental decision-makers

  9. I'm sad to say that the last tweet from this account was during the previous administration; the current admin did not prioritize supporting it. But for a while, there were folks thinking about the usability (and probably accessbility too) of government-built interfaces.

This!! It’s an incredibly challenging immigration process as a foreign founder. It took me ~6 months to get an O1. Many of my qualified friends are in the same boat or have had to temporarily move back to Canada. It adds unnecessary stress to building a company.

Yes, it is a problem. I had one for a while. After seven years, I gave up and left out of frustration. It was hard, the US had become my home.

Handling these visa related stress in the US made me move to Germany which has descent number of tech companies to work for. I have a peaceful life now where I can focus long term than struggling for my residency. Again, no one knows what future has in for you!

I feel like a lot of US citizens don’t quite get how hard it is to get an immigrant visa even if you are super qualified—many friends/family have struggled w the H1-B lottery or spent months applying for an O1 or got denied entry even though they have MIT degrees/great jobs/etc

At we collect stories about the impact open access to scholarship has on readers. Those stories are a big part of why i support - knowledge should be openly and equitably available to all, with no embargoes and no paywalls 1/
