I live in Ramsgate (~100 miles away), and I got one!

Blimey! I thought mine was ridiculous for an isolated (if horrific) fire.

Spot on, it's ghoulish and panic inducing. Can't stand this 'fake concern' corporations engage in.

Yep, surely most folk text to let people know they're ok anyway rather than on FB. Unless I'm now old skool lol

yeah, it's the "not marked as safe" part that undoes any peace of mind the service might give.

I don't like it. My partner was worried about people NOT joining during attacks. Stirs more fear.

I found it useful in some ways after the London attack - but the tower block is a lot more focused, likely to only be residents so feels odd
-
Yes. Didnt check W Lond cousin cos i know not in that block. But when relatives started calling me (E Lond) i felt bad for not checking!

Gets worse I'm Glasgow based, was in Manchester and London last year, and got notifications for both attacks. Not right at all.

Yep, totally. If people don't immediately mark themselves safe, it adds to the worry of friends/relatives trying to find out if they're okay
-
If you were nearby and are okay, you'll text/WhatsApp/iMessage/DM/Messenger friends and family to let them know you're okay, surely?
