Very excited to see the Mueller indictment today. We shared Russian ads with Congress, Mueller and the American people to help the public understand how the Russians abused our system. Still, there are keys facts about the Russian actions that are still not well understood.

We are also taking aggressive steps to prevent this sort of meddling in the future by requiring verification of political advertisers and by making all ads on the platform visible to anyone who cares to examine them.https://newsroom.fb.com/news/2017/10/update-on-our-advertising-transparency-and-authenticity-efforts/ …

OK, if you really believe educated citizenry is so easy to achieve by teaching digital literacy and critical thinking, I urge you to start with the man in the helm
@realDonaldTrump. He seems to be very effective at spreading disinformation. Come back to tell us how easy it is.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

You could also try not letting Russians buy political ads with Rubles. Just sayin’ . . .

So the answer isn’t the purveyors of ads taking responsibility, it is educating 350m people? One of those sounds easier than the other!

This strikes one as the well-funded and trained fox advising the chickens on improving security and self-defense skills at the chicken coop...post a major raid. We are stuck with Gorsuch for 40 years due to preening careerists like Hong.

Easy!? We can’t even get folks in this country to agree that the earth is a sphere or that dinosaurs existed.
I’m not saying we shouldn’t try. I’m saying that adjusting your platform is easier than getting Americans on the same (digital literacy and critical thinking) page. -

Who are you talking to really? The Trump supporters watch FoxNews, Hannity, Fox&Friends. They deal in disinformation daily. All they hear from this president is everything is fake news. If they hear it from him & Fox see it on Facebook it’s gospel then pass it on.

It also helps when social media doesn't uncritically provide a platform for disinformation or fail to question the buyer of that platform because "free market". It's also the same mentality that allows for gun resales to felons from "legitimate" dealers at gun shows.

Exactly. I love getting lectured by a guy who made money providing the Russians a platform about how it’s my fault that the Russians did it and we shouldn’t regulate him so they don’t continue.
