Abortion is healthcare, and the decision about whether and when to become a parent does not belong to the government. We are activated, powerful, and We will fight this injustice by caring for each other. Power will never destroy love and the joy we have together in community.

so nothing like banging away at a grant and feeling despondent and opening your email and realizing you received over $1000 worth of donations thanks to and now you are half way to paying for the duct work for the clinic you weren't sure you could really afford <3

Despite representing less than a quarter of the country, states that refused to expand Medicaid accounted for 74% of all rural hospital closures between 2010 and 2021, an American Hospital Association report found last year.

The problem with the Catholic church providing healthcare is that they can also deny it — and in places where they are literally the only option, they can effectively deny reproductive rights even in states where the law doesn't.

Actually found that the majority of relinquishing mothers in recent years have older children! It’s just that every group is more like to either have an abortion or parent instead of relinquishing. And, of course, many, many people are seeking to adopt: 45x available infants.
I'm seeing a lot of folk talking about people disappearing from their feeds on twitter and want to recommend tweetdeck. I have everyone sorted into lists and each list a column and I'm pretty sure I see every tweet that way.

And this is why we keep information about ALL options available to pregnant people in Alabama online and accessible... alabortionclinic.com/what-you-need-

Anecdotally the people who come to us pregnant are more often asking about prenatal care than about where they can get an abortion. Maybe because of the fear the AG has put into them, but people are definitely not asking us about adoption - even though we have resources for them.

Also let's be frank - this is primarily about taking children away after a parent has been found "unfit." Because most of the people who were coming in for abortions already had children and those who already have kids are far less likely to willingly put babies up for adoption.

Article notes 225 already “up for adoption.” Yet it doesn’t note if someone is SEEKING to adopt them. I feel for these children, and shame to the lawmakers who will create more lonely, family-less kids.

As we get ready for the first Alabama legislature session post-Roe, remember that the highest priority wasn't expanding Medicaid to get more people birth control, or fixing our lack of prenatal care. It was terminating parental rights more quickly

BREAKING: The Minnesota Senate sent legislation protecting the right to reproductive freedom to @GovTimWalz’s desk. We respect people’s fundamental right to control their own health care decisions. I’m so proud to be a Minnesotan.
