Any idea for why this ability is partially lost after 45? 1) Less incentives to lie (less fertility, …)? 2) Makes the "wisdom of the elders" easier to trust? 3) …? (1) would prob require the effect to be stronger/earlier in women
How's this: 1. Old adults are so good at lying that they can no longer be caught. 2. They intentionally sacrifice many smaller lies, so as to save up reputational capital for a few needed Big Lies. 3. They have primarily long term relations, where returns on lying are lower.
