Arguably, if there were respect for individual & creative freedom as well as tolerance, there wouldn't be much need for a social justice movement. There were shortcomings with that "old idea of tolerance" (people are fine so long as I don't see them) that shouldn't be ignored.

There might well still be a social justice movement even if there weren't still a "need" for it.
