Depressing reading. Couldn't finish it. Think it's time to start defunding universities. Try something different.

People have to ditch the groveling “I like diversity too, but...” Response has to be: its unacceptable to require your employees to pass political purity tests. Premise rejected

I’m so happy people are becoming aware of the woke-epidemic that’s spreading in academia paved with good intentions but horrible in practice.
-
Unfortunately after observing its members and their behavior, I don't think they are owed the benefit of the doubt on the 'good intentions' part. It is a guilt-based cult with no sense of forgiveness and no intellectual rigor at all.

"I'm not arguing against "diversity" [..] euphemism for racial, gender and sexual-identity quotas. I do, as required by my employer, put quite a bit of thumb on the scale in hiring and appointments." Shorter: We fed the crocodiles & now are wondering why they are turning on us.

“These statements precedence in the hiring process, so that if your statement doesn’t exceed a minimum numerical cutoff for promoting diversity, increasing it in your past, and promulgating it in the future should you be hired, your candidacy is terminated.”
-
Asking for a resignation letter in advance in this manner is like undergoing penance at a confessional: it’s not good enough to commit to avoiding “sin”. One must also promise to suffer consequences should you fail.
