    Had several meetings this week where I had to explain my decision to leave a reliable big-company gig and build something from scratch again. Kind of amazing free therapy to practice & present this...especially when it wasn't just my parents wanting to hear why again 😬

    Absolutely agreed! Of course we're building an API monitoring business without any Faustian bargains around user privacy. It's merely "all our experience" that leads us to believe that visibility and privacy don't have to be warring concepts 🤔

    Sometimes I’m amazed by how much companies really are phenotypic expressions of the founders. Like, of course I built a complicated executive tools business for the life sciences.🤦‍♀️

    Couldn't help but laugh today on hearing synthetic monitoring described as "great observability platforms." Come on, synthetics have barely changed in the last 20 years. And they are still fake fake fake. Buzzwords don't change that.

    Something I've learned is that when a qualified customer doesn't immediately "see value" sometimes this is meant very literally. As in you need a better UI/UX! This is relatively good news compared with "not getting the story", but takes practice to distinguish between these.

    You know what feels awesome? Getting a feature idea from a customer on a Thursday/Friday, and then doing a surprise demo of that new feature for them on Monday. It's priceless to shock a customer by how quickly their idea was shipped.

    As a young leader, I used to worry that asking for help on big decisions would make me look weak. You know what actually looks weak? Going it alone and making bad decisions. Ask for help. Humans like to be valuable and you’ll kick more ass thanks to their contributions.
