    At meeting yesterday we set out what aims to do & how. Ultimately we are about very big not small change. What is currently called social care isn’t ok. It wasn’t ok before “austerity”. The terrible cuts have made things much worse 4 people

    We can’t control everything, but we can shift the odds substantially in favour of extending healthy lifespan. Many of the debilitating conditions that reduce enjoyment of later life are not an inevitable consequence of ageing and are preventable 😊

    Extending my health span is more important to me than extending my life span. Why would I want to live many years longer if during that time I would experience more chronic pain and disability and the frustration and hopelessness they bring?

    Saw someone today who I havent seen or spoken to since school (25+years ago). Thought about telling him I'd seen him via Facebook. Decided to actually shake his hand and say hello. Right decision!

    We should be cautious in placing too much emphasis on what Government needs to do in response to the challenges facing charities. I‘d like charities to own their own destiny - and that of the wider sector - and not be a passenger of the State.
