    The suspects not only survived this crash but were able to leap out and run before police arrived. But Octavia Barker, just driving with a friend and her daughter, was killed.

    UPDATE Kansas Highway Patrol releases names of the victims. 47-year-old woman has died. Two passengers in her car, 54 and 12, seriously hurt. Two people in a third car, 28 and 23, seriously hurt.

    The Star then sued for body cam footage. I listened in on the dilemma among the law officers who were amassed and waiting in force, but had their own SWAT teams declining to come, saying it wasn't worth the risk over her minor warrant to put anyone in danger by entering the house

    The 1st moment I really wondered about this shooting: I'm out talking to Howard's boyfriend 2 days after she was killed. He tells me the police made him a negotiator (odd), and, just 3 hours into the standoff, a commander forced an ultimatum: "Ciara! You've got five minutes!"

    No one was in the UG truck. A team of workers were around the corner on Wyandotte working. They did not see the crash but came running when they heard it. They were pretty shaken up, a UG manager on scene said. They were taken back to their shop and coumseling will be available.

    KCK police public info officer Tom Tomasic says speed appeared to be a factor. Seat belts not in use. Police try to get the message to young drivers: "The hardest thing is that (preventing this crash) is as simple as slowing down and putting your seat belt on."
