Being Irish during the whole Brexit thing is like being the neighbour of that guy who was building his own rocket to prove that the Earth is flat. His inevitable failure is going to be all his own fault but it's still probably going to burn down your conservatory.

Please don't abuse such a good word as democracy. Check its definition, pay regard to how restricted the advisory ref was, the foreign interference, the lies, lack of information, and then use the word advisedly.
-
I have all of that relentlessly. You? Because Government told every household it would implement the decision. The only foreign interference that helped Leave was that from Obama. Lies sadly told from both side and all the information people could need is available on the net
-
In a leaflet which I didn't get, an ex-pat citizen in France. Obama? It was the *democratic* responsibility of the gov (
#Tories) to inform the public, not direct them to the internet. Your arguments are as thin tissue. Pathetic. -
Can anyone explain to me how Obama fits in here? I'm confused. What did he do?
-
I was responding to a listed tweet that included a complaint about foreign interference
-
Oh right.. You were talking bullshit with no meaning at all. Got it.
-
Hi Rose. You seem nice. Have a good day.

Personally I don’t think you have any fun in you ... you’ve almost hit the abyss...I’m convinced after reading some tweets that you have no lifetime experience never worked outside the UK and still live with your mum
-
Thanks Andrew. Spent ten years working in international trade, including with the EU institutions. Used to work for a proEU MEP. Was on board of a pro EU campaign group. Happily married. Thanks though.

-
You should know better then Jonathan... 32 years in engineering worked in 11 EU countries consistently 5 yrs in Germany 1 yr In Spain straight... working yo activity move work from the UK to EU 27 countries due to Brexit x
-
Isn’t the lesson from our conversation that your casting aspersions on people doesn’t really work out? That good, broad minded, decent people might have a different view to you? Or is everyone who has a different perspective to you just some thick loser?
-
Not at all ... tell me how Brexit is going to be good for me ... I’d love to hear ...I’ve not heard a good basis for it yet ... convince me
-
What do I get out of trying to convince you? The ref was last year. Even then I had no interest in convincing others. Voting is personal, people vote for what they think is right. Besides, a meaningful debate on the EU requires a bit more than a few tweets wouldn’t you agree?

How many rough years? 5? 10? 15? How many are too many? And we were told that NOTHING would change. That it'd benefit the economy, not that there'd be a "few rough years" ahead....
-
Personally I think it’ll be 3-5 years of slower growth. Even the OBR no longer predicts the depression we were told of before the referendum. We were told lots of things by lots of people. You choose who to listen to for your own ends. I prefer to make up my own mind personally.

Democracy. House of Lords. Royal Family....
-
House of Lords votes can be overturned by elected Commons. Royal Family has no law making power. Next.

You’ve not thought it through properly then, Jonathan. And no, before you ask I’m not going to explain why ... on frigging Twitter. Why don’t you find out for yourself, as the once great Morrissey said.
-
Insightful stuff! Thanks
-
Not that you’d know, by the looks of it.
