I prefer my burger at Hollywood Diner completely unadorned. Something about the simplicity of it I find moving. And for me at least, it’s incredibly tasty. Pre-pandemic, I used to go get a celebratory cheeseburger there after I sold a big book. Here’s one from early 2020.

Patisserie Claude is the real deal! A mom and pop bakery serving the community. Pablo the baker carries on Claude’s legacy. I still love their fruit tarts and their cakes are great and reasonably priced by NYC standards. 187 West 4th St!
