With Content ID the answer is yes. Most copyright holders upload assets to content ID in bulk as private assets. That’s how movies that aren’t available on YouTube get flagged when uploaded by another user.

Yes, but mostly Online Educators are excluded from this access... for example both you and I have courses and it would help if we had access to that system to avoid piracy of our paid materials...

Copyright owners can use a system called Content ID to easily identify and manage their content on YouTube. Videos uploaded to YouTube (private or public) are scanned against a database of files that have been submitted to us by content owners. More info: https://goo.gl/Vf3DJN

In my case it’s because I have online courses and I want to avoid piracy of my pay wall materials as so many other online educators. Most us in digital education are turned down when applying for the ContentID system as were are not Music, TV, Movies or Agencies...

Hey
@robertoblake putting unlisted YouTube videos behind a paywall sounds risky; it’s pretty easy to find the ID and share that, no? I use@Vimeo for this because you can block video by URL, allowing embedding ONLY on your site. -
Also seems neither of us could use Content ID. Disqualifiers include videos with “software visuals” (so your photoshop tutorials) and “music … that was licensed, but without exclusivity” (so any licensed music in the show). Seems VERY limiting, frankly.

The FAQ page suggests no, but I'm tagging in to see if there's a diffeerent answer https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/7648743 …pic.twitter.com/Ap5dtIkiyG

(also, i noted that your original comment doesn't specific the new copyright match tool. I agree with the others that content ID works with private assets)
