It is my understanding that the majority of channels with 100k+ subscribers got thatvway as a result of having a video hit. As long as I still have the capability for that to happen I have zero issues with what YT is doing. I trust them to run their business.

That’s true for most channels, mine was a rare exception of using volume and audience diversity to get there . Having multiple audiences now is crippling for a channel actually. Most people get to 1M on the momentum of a viral video
