Today I asked @CaseyNeistat probably the most important question I could think of for #YouTube Creators today... here is Caseyโs advice for aspiring or current #YouTubers...

Creators & Influencers typically need help understanding value-based pricing, & when negotiating w/ brands, they don't realize how much leverage they have & end up leaving $$$ on the table.
Platforms will become more about distribution with the rise of repurposing and everything will largely come down to user experience, culture and community as features become standardized and ubiquitous.
It will be about content and convenience.
Be Platform Agnostic.
Audience First, Content Second, Platform Last.
Go where the audience is regardless of platform.
Give them the content they want. Make what the viewer wants to watch.
Use the platforms as tools, don't make a platform your identity, don't be loyalists.
Prediction: Rumble will be a household name in about 2-3 years.
They are in roughly the position YouTube was after it was 10 years old and hadn't reached relevance outside of internet culture.
Everyone forgets social media was a "joke" until 2015/2016.
Seinfeld isnโt a show about nothing.
Itโs a true story of how people go to NYC and waste years of their lives doing the same stuff over and over again.
Go to work. Go get drinks. Go home to small apartment. Repeat.
Wake up 40 years old with poor health, no family and no kids.
Whenever I get to a low point where I think โwhy do I even bother?โ
I just try to remind myself โthis is where most people stop, and this is why they donโt win.โ
Interrupting momentum slows down growth and you have to rebuild it but consistency compounds growth like nothing else. If you can arrange your workflow and life for consistency, do so.
If I could have been consistent and not depressed the 3 years of the pandemic the channel would have about another 360K or so subscribers bc when I post 150 uploads a year the channel grows 10K a month. So the channel would be at about 1M
Something I may do even though I donโt expect it to be a video that gets a tone of views might be a sort of Q&A style 20 minute video talking about the behind the screens of my YouTube channel and YouTube Journey.
Would definitely say consistency and therefore growth would be easier with an editor or editing team.
I also design just about all the thumbnails myself and make 2-3 versions of thumbnails for every single video.
Iโve edited nearly every single one of the 1500+ videos on my channel myself and Iโve edited hundreds of other supplemental videos across y platforms. Mostly because Iโm very fast and obsessed w/ creative control over my voice/presentation/speech.

Your Brand Creates Trust by addressing the problem.
You Achieve Transactions When Your Offer Solves the Problem.
Most people you know who spent their entire lives working for someone else ended up keeping only 1-10% of all the value they created their entire lives by age 65... bc everyone convinced them to build someone else's dream... FOREVER... and they have the scraps of that life...
8 videos filmed.
Just have to edit.
If I can film 2-4 more or do some streams I can hit my goal of 10-12 videos for this month.
I want to do a video every day in April, I can supplement it with streaming since my replays are doing well.
Was talking to a content creatorโฆ they told me their tax bill after their first year of being full-time, means they are giving the government more money than they have EVER spent on themselves in a single purchase in their entire adult lifeโฆ
That made me sad to hear ๐
Lots to think about when it comes to AI/ChatGPT for lawyers but one thing that keeps popping into my mind is the importance of "authority."
Many things will become easier but sources of authority (when ChatGPT can just make it up) will become more important than ever.
Posting my income breakdowns was one of the most anxiety inducing things I have ever done. It over the years Iโve gotten hundreds of emails and thousands of messages thanking me for the transparency and motivation.
I think I only got a few dozen hate messages by comparison.
Currently I plan to get to 2-3 videos a week and I only really need 1 video a week on average to have this consistent performance and then my growth goals become a formality.
Not everything (when doing education content) has to be a banger. Some things will perform longtail.
This also is a good conversion rate. Typically 100,000 views is what I takes to get 1000 subscribers.
So when you can convert at a 2% rate youโre crushing it.
For me 5M views is 100K more subs.
37M Got me to 575K.
So another 20M or so puts me at 1M Subs without Shorts.
50 more videos like this one from last month will definitely add another 100K subs to the channel.
Grew by over 4K with 5 uploads last month. 10-12 of the right uploads is 8K-10K Subs a month.
All things can be explained with enough of the correct data.

Anything that is a โproven performerโ in extreme long form, is getting greater than usual suggested traffic reach and response right now.
The 2 extremes are surging. Extreme Short Form, and Extreme Long Form.
At least in suggested.
Homepage/Browse is different. So is Search.
Iโll elaborate. I looked at a spike pattern of videos for the last month of older videos surging for โno reasonโand I identified a pattern of exceptionally high average view duration among those videos.
I am also seeing a pattern in YouTube if Live Replays and Podcast surging.
