My first social vid reporting for the AP. Stay safe, friends. It might look brighter today for the East Coast & Midwest, but your local air quality for PM 2.5 particle pollutants (wildfire pollution) might say otherwise.

I was nervous about these trips because I have not done wet lab chemistry in 4-5 years. As I have been applying around, I began to question my ability and desire to work in labs at this capacity. Happy to say that it's been refreshing to be working in labs doing chemistry again.

This week, we introduce you to one of our all-time favorite science podcasts. @Ologies. In each episode, Host @AlieWard interviews a brilliant, charming ologist, and they dive deep into their research. Here's her episode on the study of dark matter: bit.ly/42LiQin.

I feel like my first 10 years in science was figuring how to interact with the social class of the professoriate. Little things: what to wear, international travel, telemark skiing, small talk, being picky about beer&wine, not having had braces, and such.

Honestly, this move by Biden to push a rule on trans kids in sports is not only a backwards betrayal, it force us to have to spend our time dealing with god damn sports instead of criminal bans on our healthcare. He could have just done nothing. This is legitimizing transphobia.

Ok the new solution to the slow development cycle (aka rod is the only dev and other bS takes up all the time i would spend coding) is... we're hiring students to do the work for 1/4 the cost of a contract dev. Didn't the students just have a strike about not getting paid?

Congratulations to the whole team on this paper finally hitting the streets! And especially to for your terrific leadership with . I’m honored to have played a small (very small) role in this paper being out in the world! 🎉

The programmatic assault on Black studies & LGBTQ+ visibility is an attempt to erase not only our histories and identities, but existence. In science we cannot pretend that these essential lenses exist outside of our work, and must stand up in their defense
