I'm saddened to learn that my colleague, but more importantly, my friend, Congressman Don Young has passed away. When he was walking the halls of Congress, more than 4,000 miles from home, Alaska was first and foremost on his mind.https://www.adn.com/politics/2022/03/18/alaska-us-rep-don-young-has-died-according-to-former-aides/ …

Congratulations to everyone
@nasa on this great accomplishment. I of course have to acknowledge everyone at@NASA_Marshall for their work on@NASA_SLS. I can't wait to one day see this powerful rocket return us to the moon and beyond.https://twitter.com/NASA/status/1504863283530108955 …

The people of Ukraine are determined to standup to this invasion and I support efforts for America to help them in this defiance.

It was good to hear from President Zelensky in his address to Congress this morning. And afterward, I also got a chance to speak to Ukraine's Ambassador to the U.S., Oksana Markarova.pic.twitter.com/x9LSeP4cmY

This is what Biden’s energy policies have gotten us. With the ban on Russian oil imports, it’s time to make up that difference with more American energy sources. That gives us energy independence, while also creating American jobs.pic.twitter.com/1dJNFcPHZ8

Last night I voted to ban Russian energy imports. This is a good first step in the right direction, now Biden needs to do his part by finishing the Keystone XL pipeline and removing regulations on drilling.pic.twitter.com/93lxsU6bdi

While I'm glad we are banning Russian oil, it needs to be replaced with American oil from American soil. We don't need to replace the oil from one dictator with the oil from another dictator. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2022/03/08/ukraine-us-expected-ban-russian-oil-imports/9422798002/ … via

Putin has shut down any media that highlights the atrocities he has committed against Ukraine. The people of Russia do not have the freedom of speech or protest, and now they will be hidden from seeing the true nature of what their leader is doing to innocent, sovereign people.pic.twitter.com/pohKjPCr8M

Unfortunately, it seems Russia, like Cuba and North Korea, won’t taste that freedom as long as the current leadership is in power.

For a brief time after the Cold War, Russians got a taste of freedom. I believe that sowed a seed that will ultimately prevail in this current crisis.

While it makes no logical sense, President Putin seems to want to turn Russia into North Korea. And he wants to make his people suffer just the same with poverty and famine, all the while using his nuclear weapons as blackmail against the world.

Today I’m calling for an end to the importation of Russian oil and gas. I also call on President Biden to approve the Keystone Pipeline and lift the extreme restrictions on further oil and gas exploration in the U.S.

Vladimir Putin has invaded a sovereign nation and terrorized its civilians. His aggression will not stop with Ukraine. The Biden administration must take immediate action to keep military aid flowing to Ukraine, displace Russian oil and gas, and regain global energy leadership.

I fully support our efforts to help the people of Ukraine. But I'm disappointed the President did not address our own defense needs with increased spending to address the new threats from Russia and China.
