But they were allowed to stay in quarantine until they got well. They didn’t send people back or close the island at peak hours. If you paid your ticket to get in the boat, you were in. Big port of entry.

The average vetting time at Ellis Island was 2 minutes per person and 98% of the people who went through there were accepted, but go off I guess.
