Two questions about this not great piece: 1) The Times says they obtained the video. Why not publish it alongside the article and let us decide for ourselves? 2) Who showed it? Doesn't sound like it was the organizers. nytimes.com/2019/10/13/us/

Okay I watch it. It's set to "Freebird." Like, obviously it is vile and should not exist and this conference should not have showed it, but maybe the media don't need to go Full Freakout here?

This is a big gripe I have, and failing, of the media. Not publishing quotes of “inflammatory” statements or publishing links to video. Trust us - our interpretation is “correct.” We can decide for ourselves.

I was there. There was a room at the conference showing videos by that “carpe donktum” guy. A meme art exhibit I guess. It was empty when I went in. I didn’t see that specific video.
