I write, I cycle long distances, I play guitar a bit, I try to be a supportive husband and decent dad. Usually it all goes horribly wrong. All views...blah blah

A simple question: Would you expect to watch a film in a burger bar? No? So why are you stinking out the cinema with your “lunch”?

Animal cruelty is wrong. "But, it's a tradition", doesn't make it right, "It's part of my religion" doesn't make it right, "It's my livelihood" doesn't make it right, and "people are more important" doesn't make it right either. You know why? Because it's just wrong.

Yes, it’s for charity, but how is this different from going around asking your friends to pay for your holiday this summer?

And good on for not pandering to the “everyone with a bicycle must be shown wearing a helmet” brigade. 👍👍👍

Delighted that my piece of flash fiction, 'Stolen Lives' is published today by Ellipsis Zine - and somewhat overwhelmed to be in the company of so many thought-provoking writers.

"he didn't change Barron's diapers or tend to him in the middle of the night. That was Melania's job." If that's what kind of father is it's small wonder his other kids have turned out as they have. Take note, Rees-Mogg. It's not too late to mend your ways.

I honestly do believe that some people have no humanity. The great majority of homeless that come into our library are decent people who want to enjoy the space and read their books and newspapers quietly.

Walk. If more parents walked with their children to school there would be less traffic, less pollution and less obesity. 👍🏼

Random acts of kindness make the world go round. It’s always so much easier to look the other way but being bothered has its rewards.

Following an entire career built on maligning & misrepresenting the EU, culminating in Brexit, Boris Johnson is in Brussels today seeking political unity with our soon to be ex-partners. What a bloody travesty.

Today’s 200km ride postponed due to weather. Did 80km on this instead before the boredom became too much. It’s just not the same 😢. Roll on summer!

Up at 4am yesterday to take godson to the airport. Up at 3am today to deliver own son to start of school trip. Tomorrow’s 5am wake-up to do breakfast at the night shelter will seem like a lie-in.

I'm still amazed at the surprise people who are on Facebook show when I tell them that they no longer have any control over the information or photos that they post there and how easy it is to find out other information about them by looking at their "friends'" profiles too.
