If you think about it, it’s pretty weird that we don’t wear helmets when driving a convertible with the top down.

Convertibles are often built with stronger/thicker unibody to support the A-pillars and roll hoops in case of a roll. Also, seat belts are 3 point and not 4 so that you can lean down or over, unlike race cars.

I did a bunch of research into “normal” 3 point seat belts when I installed the harnesses in the Jeep and apparently 3-point belts use the twist of your body as a dampening force

Also stock Jeeps are not reinforced at all and the front bars attach to the windshield as part of the roll cage and they’re weak as fuck. The windshield folds under load. Also my harnesses are going to be the death of me.

Haha. Don’t put 4 point harness in without a fully reinforced roll cage!
