Do you worry about gentrification within the argument of “pay people the same salary no matter where they live”? Bringing that up as its a common thing people demand who also want remote. Not sure whether you agree w/ it or not, just a concern I see.

I took a pay cut to move to Nevada. When I found out about it I thought it was bullshit. After talking with A LOT of folks about it. I somewhat agree with it. I do think it leads to some income disparity depending on where you settle.

More importantly, though, is that the "freedom of white flight" situation where I may be comfortable moving to a red state, while many of my peers who happen to be people of color, can't. If I get the same pay as someone in the Bay Area, but I move to rural Montana, for example.
