Labor is boring and painful, like a city council meeting. Livetweeting is a time-honored survival strategy

They’re less than 4 minutes apart and very painful so I called to ask when to go in. Doc on call wasn’t my usual OB. I told her I was in a lot of pain and she said “well, pregnancy can be uncomfortable” so if you wonder if the medical establishment is as bad as you’ve heard, yes.

Our hot water tank is too small to fill the whole bathtub so I’m just sitting in a half-full tub crying while my husband heats pans of water and dumps them in here like I’m a mermaid he’s captured and has to keep alive

I went in and I’m still just barely on the verge of active labor so they gave me a big old shot of drugs in my tuchus and sent me home. Turns out drugs work! I anticipate sleeping maybe!

I’m still in labor but I’m told it will be over soon. Compared to yesterday’s festivities, active labor is very chill

Progression stalled and I started getting panic attacks with every contraction bc it reminded me of yesterday, so I became very brave and got the epidural (I was more afraid of the epidural than I was of birth). Friends, drugs good

Oh and I’m covid-negative. If you want the only rapid Covid tests available in the Bay Area, just go into labor. Giving birth in a mask has been fine btw

Well team, after 44 hours of labor I ended up yeeting this kid out of a c section. His name is Briar, he is 8lbs 3oz (most of that is his giant head), and he already has a hobby, which is eating. And now I’m going to sleeppic.twitter.com/GMzOIE3UgT
