After I learned how much their former CFO made, I felt he had to true up to employees. A losing company paid $110M to the CFO I believe. It was a noble act but one that was perpetuated by poor actions prior.

They did a massive layoff cycle that included Twitter’s entire localization team to “right size” the company and then gave Noto a several M raise to $12M a year. That’s not what “caring about your employees” looks like lmao

I think plenty of people would try to justify it. Giving someone a raise like that while laying off a bunch of people at a time when your company is running a 22% unintended attrition rate from the _last_ layoffs is not smart.

I was thinking more about his assinine relocation package and raises in the midst of cost cutting for profitability. And the fact that we were focused on and reporting the wrong metric from day one. MAUs meant little for actual revenue and let to investor confusion.
