There seem to be a remarkable number of people having an absolute neltdown over *temporary* very clow cal/800kcal type diets to help with WL and/or T2DM, yet don't shut the fuck up about how keto/lchf/carnivore diets allow effortless fasting and how it's so magical and natural 🤷🏻‍♂️

TWITTER: Humans do not NEED to eat carbs to survive! TRUTH: The only way our planet can produce enough calories to sustain over 7 billion people is via carbs, as they produce more calories per acre than fat/protein. So, in a very real sense, we *do* need carbs to survive.

The idea that eating wheat is unhealthy because it was recently domesticated is a common one amongst the low carbers. The problem with this narrative? Wheat and cows were domesticated around the same time. So beef should be off their menu too. 🐮 🍞

You do know I research ketone metabolism & advocate FOR the use of keto as a viable option for metabolic disease, right? But I wont support BS hyperbole or extrapolating a single, short term situation to being a one-way only option for all people for eternity.

Chuffing hell this must be the hot favourite for the 'Most Ironic' tweet of the century. Did you enjoy your Loch Fyne trip? How's your apartment near London Bridge? And this when you spent £10,000 on luxury hotels for eight Labour MPs at the party’s annual conference

Dipshits are calling for the McDonalds employee who fought back against that man for grabbing her over straws to be fired. The guy fucking grabbed her and tried to pull her over the counter. She had every right to start swinging.

Some investment commentators are wanting new monetary stimulus (QE4 & interest rate cuts) to save the stock market (& their own skins). Trump called the sell-off a glitch. With hindsight the market is doing what it should given the slowing global economy. It’s not a glitch

Good that you cite that paper, which is concerning about microbiome effects and glucose regulation. But in the current report summarizing 2 small randomized trials, no effect. Inadequate data to date to judge.
