150 years ago, South Carolina’s first congressional district elected the first Black American to the U.S. Congress. 140 years later, that same district honored me with the same opportunity. and I spoke about this important legacy.

  9. This part of the Trump admin’s approach towards Russia was utterly overlooked and instead was viewed as an embarrassment and baked into the “he’s mean to allies” narrative. Nordstream2 is a big problem for NATO and it’s absurd to look the other way.

  18. Awful. Chinese authorities have detained Haze Fan, who works for Bloomberg News in Beijing, on suspicion of “endangering national security.” Maybe Bloomberg can see if Xi’s advisors can kindly ask for her release since Xi a “constituency” to answer to.

  19. It’s also something Trump has highlighted among the list of his accomplishments, and aside from the small but loud Tucker Carlson wing of the R base, it’s popular (and I’m not sure it isn’t just Tucker who doesn’t like it tbh)

  20. Ending support to the CIA’s CT mission makes the least amount of sense w/in the context of the shift to GPC. A relatively small footprint in the region w/ lots of sniping terror chiefs has not been a bad way to go.
