GOP: He didn't do it. Trump: I did it. GOP: He didn't mean to do it. Trump: I wish I'd done it sooner. GOP: He did it for benign reasons. Trump: I did it for the worst reasons. GOP: He's sorry. Trump: I'm never sorry. GOP: He's chastened. Trump: I'm doing it again tomorrow.

The proposed Tenant Opportunity to Purchase Act is a promising strategy "for preserving affordable housing and stabilizing neighborhoods [and] preventing displacement, especially in communities of color and low-income communities”

NYPD Chief tells Queens residents to lobby lawmakers to change bail reforms, despite a prohibition on officers speaking publicly about "any public policy matter." NYPD's response: "I see that as the voice of a committed and conscientious commander..."

A poor community sued over the stench of pig feces and rotting carcasses from a nearby hog farm. What followed was a remarkable moment in oral arg from Reagan appointee, Judge J Harvie Wilkinson III: “Dont less fortunate citizens have property rights too?”

Wondering when NYPD Commissioner Shea will come out and blast this judge (and ) for allowing a dangerous criminal back on the streets without bail. Ah wait, it's a cop this time, so of course the fearmongering wouldn't apply.

This opinion is unhinged. The FedSoc judge claims that the legislature cannot abolish cash bail for certain offenses, because HE has final authority "to control the appearance of a defendant" however he chooses. Just a totally lawless power grab. This should be an outrage.

Honestly, what kind of monster do you have to be to look at an election process that actively disenfranchises disabled and Deaf people, second shift workers, and returned citizens and think “you know what we should fix? The one part of this that was working just fine”

The next time someone tells you the NYPD’s first priority is public safety: “The city had argued that the cops did not have a constitutional obligation to provide CPR.”

The Voting Rights Act was called “An act to enforce the Fifteenth Amendment to the Constitution.” Those who passed Civil Rights laws in the 1960s saw them not as “upending” the Constitution (as Andrew Sullivan has it) but as fulfilling it,as amended during the Reconstruction era

WHOA! Hell of an email from NOAA official Craig McLean to NOAA's chief and other top officials: "What concerns me most is that this Administration is eroding the public trust in NOAA for an apparent political recovery from an ill timed and imprecise comment from the President"
