Taking a page from ’s book and posting an early prototype. SpriteKit pane bridged over to SwiftUI for composition alongside editor pane. This feels like a pretty neat idea. (Several properties set on emitter that are not editable, but could be)

As I was told growing up: “if you don’t have something nice to say, don’t say anything at all.” Great thought

So often mid level engineers write really terse/clever code because they’ve been told this is what proves they’re an expert. That by knowing these pieces of syntax, they’re official now. We can go a long way towards removing that bias with a focus on readability!

There’s more tweets shedding light on this huge issue that Uber drivers have and I hope this is enough for Uber to penalize drivers who are completely ableist and not allowing people with service dogs to ride. It blows my mind that drivers ignore ADA even when told it’s illegal.

Accessibility becomes real to you the moment you have an ailment for which you can’t “do something” and fix it. I thought I understood the need for accessibility as my sister was in a wheelchair all her life and we were close. It’s different when you “see” the perspective.

An interesting thing that often goes unacknowledged on Twitter, because somehow everything seems equal here, is that there are power dynamics and hierarchies here too. We often don't talk about them in constructive ways.

People sometimes suggest I should calm down about web performance because the web feels fine on *their* phone. and I pulled a little data to try to visualise why that might be both true and not particularly relevant:

I feel absolutely late to the game. I never bothered to actually use RSS feeds, and now I feel like I've had a whole new world opened to me.

These are the type of discussions of trade offs that are wonderful to see. They clarify and allow exploration of topics in respectful ways.

A while back, I published some command-line interfaces to Apple’s NaturalLanguage framework. If you do any text processing on macOS, you might find these tools to be handy: 🧵⬇️

This planned violation of privacy by Spotify is a huge reason to stick with for podcasts. Ads in podcasts are fine with me, and I’ve even bought products advertised on some of my favorite shows. Ads based on vacuuming up my private info aren’t OK.

While exploring the personal version of Basecamp, I've hit a small snag. Is there any way to set arbitrary repetition cadences for checkins, todos, or calendar items, eg: Every 3 weeks on Monday?

This deserves a blog post, but has anyone else used the assistive touch overlay to completely overhaul iPad multi-tasking? Just set a long press (or tap / double-tap) to bring up Spotlight. This makes adding any app to a multi window set extremely simple.
