hey speaking of economic advancement, i know some of y'all are of a class that'd know this... can someone please explain to me what the hell one does with linkedin

Primarily it serves as a long form, living resume--with the ability to have recommendations from actual people built in, as well as letting me search for recruiters from specific teams and orgs to cold open to when job hunting.

Probably the least relevant part of the above. It's more useful (when job hunting) to use it as a way to annoy the shit out of recruiters then they can see your background.

Once you get a job, then when you meet contacts internal/external to the company you don't want to add to your personal social media it's a good way to build your rolodex so to speak
