I feel like this probably doesn't mean what you think it means. We're still here, after all. It'd be a waste of energy to ignore the way things we make things easier even when we consider you a pest.

Taming and even domestication also don't really seem to make animals dumber. They might have less brain mass, but that's because more of the growth is dedicated to theory-of-mind firmware, which is pretty complicated shit.

If computer hardware can get both smaller and more powerful by developing more efficient architectures, it stands to reason you can do the same shit with neurons.
