i could be wrong here, but my impression of the capuano/pressley race is that no one really had a problem with capuano - but they voted him out anyway because, gosh, ya know what, why not

if that's accurate, one would expect some writer somewhere to already have compared it to the trump election, which the Narrative regards as voters just throwing a tantrum for no reason at all

in reality, the primary and the general were both decided on the issues. trump won because both clinton and his republican competitors adopted unpopular positions on the issues - esp. immigration and trade

(also, of course, clinton being the unpopular wife of a controversial former president, el jebe being the dopey mexaboo brother of an uncontroversially awful former president, and cruz having the charisma of a fungus-sprouting cum sock. but also the issues)

what's more of an indictment of a voting population? voting for the one guy who didn't adopt disqualifyingly unpopular stances on important issues, or throwing out a guy no one had a problem with because hey look a squirrel

somebody with more patience than me should look at the precinct-level data and see who it was that voted for pressley. (only released as badly put together pdf, of course.) city-level data sure makes it look like her demographic was rich swpls
