you should ask your healthcare provider how much a full-body MRI scan is :-) (that's if they even let you get to the point of finding out costs, because requesting an MRI pre-symptom is seen as crazy- because our current healthcare system is crazy)

I’m sure it’s expensive. Luckily for me I’m a veteran and my health care is free, I also have access to my medical records and reports online. I do take your point though.

Catching some horrible diseases early on would actually SAVE a lot of money though, since early intervention usually costs much much less than extensive hospitalization for further progressed diseases.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Screening_(medicine) … The 'Analysis' section explains why people are often taken in by unproven screening programmes.

That sections simply states that screening is imperfect. ALL screening methods, for instance weighing patients, lack perfect precision.

Screening can cause harm too. Picking something up sooner isn't always life saving

(I did a full body mri just last year, and even the MRI operators thought I was crazy for doing it despite being healthy — they never had someone healthy do it before)

If prevention is the goal, a whole body MRI (which no physician I know can interpret), is inherently inferior to a proper 5th grade education. In terms of prevention, buying a young adulthood of healthy choices may win. Folks at my county hospital suffer from choices long past.

beg to disagree. A MRI can catch a lot of really nasty stuff early on whilst still treatable.
