Like many people, I'm pretty much resigned to Twitter being a legacy platform now, and have moved over to Mastodon (infosec.exchange/@metlstorm) as my daily driver infosec-chums-hangout place. See you there, don't expect much new content or good DM response times here.

Once you understand that every instance basically operates like its own twitter dot com it’s very easy. Just go to the instance (like infosec.exchange for security people) with your browser and sign up for an account. The instances talk to each other via federation.

Of all the big social media behemoths, Twitter was the only one that truly inherited 2000s forum culture. So it’s only appropriate that it should die by the admin being incredibly divorced, having a personal meltdown, and pulling the plug on the servers for financial reasons.

I’m remembering the time set himself a calendar note 18 months in advance that just said “somewhere, a certificate expires”. Let me tell you, when that day came he was sweating bullets.
