I sang “The Preamble to the Constitution” to my baby daughter as a lullaby. We still sing it together 35 years later. Thank you, Jack Sheldon.

When I was in high school (1985), our civics teacher tried to stick his nose in the air and say that he bet none of us knew the words to the preamble of the Constitution. So I started singing and the entire rest of the class joined me.

My introduction to Mr. Sheldon was when he was on Johnny Bravo as a "Nice Guy" who tried to help Johnny pick up girls. I still love that episode as a parody of something I hadn't even seen at the time, and he was such an iconic part of Schoolhouse Rock.

I watched this as a kid among the MANY innappropiate cartoons and kids' show parodies on YouTube as a kid (Drawn Together, Family Guy, South Park, Avenue Q and YouTube Poops for instance). Eventurally my mom found out and banned me from such things.

YouTube back then was more for adults and you had to be careful what you searched for if you were a kid. Otherwise, you'd go from My Little Pony Tales to a AMV of the characters doing the classroom scene from South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut, with the swears uncensored.
