I have, for a very long time, argued that 'people know JS' was a good argument to use it and make things for it. But turns out , people know if/while/for/function at BEST. Ask them how this works or a prototype and see what i mean.

In that sense i'm also very bullish on Rust. Since those same concepts exist there. And given a nice enough starting point library/editor wise, its not really at such a strong disadvantage.

However where Rust shines is where JS fractures. Composeability, free abstractions, raw speed and most of all Safety. JS is a very fragile language to build applications in especially with teams. Rust not so.

Also syntax wise Elm is FAR more alien than Rust. Clojure as well. So applying those arguments to 'Rust is a different language' doesn't hold up. Rust almost paren-to-paren translates from C++/C/JS.

Only thing is the forcing function the borrowchecker puts on your relationship of code to data. And that hurts. Buts its also extremely valuable usually.
