    some personal news: after 9 years as Brussels reporter for I will move to its Prague HQ to become Europe editor as of 2 March. I will still follow EU/NATO events & of course , and all other countries I happily call "my own"

    tonight the EU ambassadors agreed to sanction RT & Sputnik and impose SWIFT sanctions on 7 Russian banks. there is also political agreement on an economic sanctions package on but final adoption expected tomorrow morning.
