1st question to Kav has to be: Would you delay a trial if one side dropped 42,000 documents the night before? 2nd: Out of respect for due process would YOU, judge, request a week's delay?

"Trade wars are easy to win," we were told. Wheat opens down twenty more cents this morning. Not to worry, the "bail out" will provide 7 cents to a wheat farmer.

I stand with in calling on Chairman Grassley to suspend 's hearing until the Senate can do its job & have ample time to review the 42k documents dropped on us last night. But right now - this isn't "regular order" - this is a joke.

The idea that GOP wants Justices who’ll “strictly interpret the Constitution” is a total myth. For years now the GOP court majority has been on a judicial activism tear - and the GOP has quietly stopped mentioning “judicial activism,” much less hating it.

Extremely proud of my father, a POW alongside John McCain, who also turned his traumatic experience into a life defined by service to his country. And like Sen. McCain, challenging those seeking to degrade the core principles of our democracy.

Read this if you want to understand the barriers to affordable housing Seattle. Ditto for why improving traffic by having more transit-served dense neighborhoods is hard.

This is simply appalling. A reversal of one of the few good things for America to come from the Vietnam war - our welcoming & providing not just a refuge but a home for Vietnamese people our military presence impacted.

"I want to take a first step, Mr. President," Mr. Dirksen said. "I am not a young man. One of my age thinks about his destiny a little. I should not like to have written on my tombstone, 'He knew what happened at Hiroshima, but he didn't take a first step.'" 1/3

Civil Rights Act, Voting Rights Act, etc. He could be a charlatan, a trickster, a buffoon who enjoyed his acting & attention. But thinking of his legacy, he did grow. Have McConnell, Ryan, or Pence grown, they who just eulogized McCain, more a Dirksen than McConnell GOP senator?

Sen. Everett McKinley Dirksen (R-IL) in 1969 lay in state in the Capitol rotunda (covered in marigolds, his favorite flower, about which he discoursed at length when he filibustered). As GOP's Senate leader he grew to cooperate w Dems on the nuclear test ban treaty (above) .. 2/3
