Because it is not a federal incident.

Right... didn't realize it hadn't gone federal yet. The
@CALFIRE_PIO incident page is also rather lacking. -
Has nothing to do with "going federal" it's a Cal FIre incident because it is in the State Responsibility Area (SRA) as opposed to the FRA.
-
I thought the fire started in the national forest area. my mistake then
-
From the initial reports, I think it was SRA, not Plumas NF
-
Ahhh. I had seen something from there that it started in Plumas. Conflicting info early on isn't abnormal...

CAL FIRE incident, not federal http://fire.ca.gov/current_incidents/incidentdetails/Index/2277/ …
-
Right, I didn't realize when I wrote the tweet that it hadn't gone federal yet. (side note, still no incident map from
#CalFire yet?) -
Incident maps won’t be generated for a day or two, right now it’s all hands on deck getting people evacuated safely. Check Modis maps for heat signatures which approximate fire perimeter.
-
whoa... that's nuts.... it's already huge. from those heat signatures it looks like it's already surrounding Paradise.

Which way is it moving? My daughter is in Chico. They are evacuating to Chico so she is safe?
