    Update to this story: Tonight NC’s Economic Investment Committee approved an incentive package of up to $42.45 million over 12 years for Honeywell— so that’s on top of the record $46 million it’s getting from the city and county.

    Mecklenburg County and the city are giving about $46 million in incentives to Honeywell to create 750 jobs. That works out to more than $61,300 per job. Readers, what do you think? Are we getting our money's worth?

    So far this year, 22 have died on Charlotte streets, including a 13-year-old girl killed trying to cross North Tryon, a 15-year-old girl crossing Youngblood to reach her bus stop and an 85-year-old woman walking her dog on Moores Chapel Road.
