The reason the very bad 5th Circuit opinion on Texas's voter id law is likely to stand is because of appointments Trump has ALREADY MADE to the 5th Circuit. There's a lot of more of this to come, and it will outlast Trump

So true. There are 17 seats on this circuit. To date, Trump has had 6 vacancies to fill & has made 5 nominations. Trump is transforming the judiciary but nowhere more than in the 5th.
Voter ID should not B a partisan issue. It simply makes sense. We need ID for everything else. Just common sense 2 keep our voting process above board & honest.
But it is a partisan issue. The common sense argument is facially reasonable, but GOP partisans know from experience, and occasionally admit, that it works to their advantage by suppressing Dem Votes. If you stop 5 votes and 3 were Dems, that’s advantage GOP.
Luckily it did not. I'm worried that crook Trey Gowdy is gunning for a job on the 4th Circuit which includes VA and NC.
