Wait, you don't say to yourself, "Well, that's 1/3 of the time of a typical argument, so I can do 1/3 of the prep!"?
If anything, it might require more prep because you know you'll have fewer opportunities to direct the argument to your important thematic points.
and it's a partisan gerrymandering case for goodness sakes. They are complex both factually and legally. Not like someone can give it 10 hours of oral argument prep and wing it.
