What problem do you guys have with enforcing the Voting Rights Act? You should be ashamed of yourselves.

a) The VRA has been enforced for more than 50 years without a citizenship question, b) Jeff Sessions's zealous commitment to VRA enforcement is not credible, and c) in any event, the undercount risk is too great to justify the asserted benefit.

We must do a better job of ID’ing non-citizens to assure they don’t vote. (I assume you have a problem with Putin affecting our elections). Every non-citizen who votes disenfranchises a citizen who does. Credible studies demonstrate the risk of non-citizen voting is significant.

And who benefits politically if large illegal alien populations are counted in the census?

The census does not determine voter rolls. It is a constitutionally required count of the entire US population, whether documented or not. It has nothing to do with voter ID or who is eligible to vote.

And used to determine how federal money is allocated. And when certain states have so-called sanctuary laws to protect illegals, they can game the system. This must stop. (Not sure why we shouldn’t use the census to cross-check with voter rolls, but I’ll look into that).

Agree 100%. But on the silver lining side, perhaps Texas won't gain any/many CDs, which will keep CDs in RI and MN.

What about the possibility of a California seat going to Texas?

And what would happen if we ALL decided not to answer THAT question?
