Got to be some major writing going on behind the scenes at SCOTUS, given this long delay in the order in the Pa. congressional redistricting case

What changed in PA redistricting case in 20 hours to be weird? Election?
-
the length of time that they've been sitting on the stay in an election case is unusual. Every day that passes as folks file as candidates under the new lines increases reliance interests in new lines.
-
One ~very minor~ caveat I would add: They've been out since the morning of the 5th, last conference on the 2nd.
-
Tomorrow is their first conference since the responses were due. Obviously, they do not need to meet in person for consideration of applications, as we know well — but, still.

Doesn’t candidate qualification END tomorrow under remedial plan?
